Kathy A. Hevner – Obituary
Born on June 15, 1953 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Bennie P. and Helen Marie Dale Shoemaker, Sr.
After graduating from Lock Haven High School in 1971, Kathy earned her Medical Assistant degree from South Hills Business School, State College.
Kathy served with the Pennsylvania National Guard.
On November 20, 1992 in Lock Haven she married Harold E. Hevner who survives.
Kathy was employed by the Geisinger Medical Center, Lock Haven, as a receptionist.
She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore.
Kathy was very involved with the Geisinger Office Staff’s Relay for Life team.
She enjoyed camping, riding her bicycle, and walking. Most of all, Kathy loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she is survived by a son, Adam Wayne Smith, Sr. of Cape Coral, FL; three daughters: Heather Marie Mann of Avis, Angela E. (John) Karwowski of Lock Haven, and Yvonne M. (Michael) Hughes of McElhattan; three brothers: Bennie P. Shoemaker, Jr. of Utah, David W. Shoemaker of California, and Jared A. (Jackie) Shoemaker, Sr. of Dunmore; thirteen grandchildren: Chelsey and Lindsey Mann, Chandler Smith, Zachary and Natalia Hockman, Skylar and Alyson Smith, Adam Wayne Smith, Jr., Rachael Karwowski, and Jessica, Samantha, Derek, and Jonathan Hughes.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton County Relay for Life through the funeral home.
