Geisinger Trauma hosting Saturday farm safety day at Clinton County Fairgrounds

LAMAR TOWNSHIP, PA – “Stay Healthy, Stay Safe” is the message as Geisinger Trauma is presenting its Agricultural Safety Day at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. The event continues until 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds and admission is free.

Amy Swarthout, Trauma Program Manager at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, extended an invitation for the public to visit the 13 exhibits inside and adjacent to one of the fairground commercial buildings. Exhibits are of interest to the general public, in addition to the agricultural community; they include a Life-Flite helicopter on display and open for inspection.

Exhibits include firearms safety, hunter safety, power take-off safety, tractor stability, pediatric farm safety, school bus safety, bicycle/pedestrian safety, “Stop the Bleed,” farm tractor and equipment safety, grain rescue tube, rescue touch-a-truck, ATV safety (with an ATV safety demonstrator), and pesticide and tick education.

Exhibitors include multiple Geisinger programs, Penn State Extension, PennDOT, Nittany Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Goodwill Hose Company and EMS and PA Trails Foundation.
