Obituary

Dawn I. (Harbold) Danfelt, 89, of Renovo passed away, Monday, February 27, 2023 at Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo.

Born April 23, 1933 in York she was a daughter of the late Grant and Mary (Kissel) Harbold.

She was married to Roy Altland in October of 1950 then divorced in 1960 and reconciled in 2002 until Roy’s death in October of 2014. Dawn was the love of his life.

Dawn worked at various jobs throughout her life, ending her working days as a CRNA in a nursing home her favorite job. Her favorite job was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She spent her retirement years living with Roy at his cabin in Hammersley Fork, PA. She loved watching turkey, deer and bear out her back window and a large variety of birds, squirrels and chipmunks from the screened in porch. This was her favorite pastime. Before her arthritis became to bad she loved crocheting and making numerous baby blankets and handing them out to friends and family.

Dawn attended Sunset Memorial Church where she had many friends and truly enjoyed worshipping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Surviving are two sons; Robert L. Altland of Renovo and Edward F. (Mika) Golden of Dover also two daughters; Kathy A. (Chuck) Blouse of York and Doris L. (Randy) Sweitzer of Thomasville. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One brother Herbert Harbold and a sister Joan “Sue” Rauhauser both of York.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Carol L. (Stabley) Altland, 5 sisters, Ethel, Ann, Hazel, Ruth and Zee-Jane and a brother, Grant “Bud” Harbold.

Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of the family.
