Lock Haven woman charged with possessing upscale counterfeit items

LOCK HAVEN, PA – A Lock Haven woman was arrested earlier this month, charged with second degree felony trademark counterfeiting, this after state police confiscated some $1.7 million in counterfeit items from her city home.

According to a state police affidavit of probable cause, Sabrina Allyse Caris, 34, was arrested on Feb. 9 after authorities in October of last year conducted a raid on her residence. The case is being carried out by the state police counterfeit crimes unit, the arresting officer Trooper Matthew Cornetti.

Caris is free on $25,000 bail with a preliminary hearing before District Judge Keith Kibler scheduled for Monday of next week.

The police affidavit goes into great detail, alleging that Caris sold counterfeit merchandise on her Facebook page. The October raid netted clothing and fashion wear from jewelry to wallets to purses.

Police said state police conducted multiple surveillance details on the Caris residence between April and October of last year. During that investigation, police said Caris changed residences, from N. Jones Street to Peach Street. During that time frame, police said they observed a steady pace of international shipments come to her home.

Homeland Security force members had contacted state police in April of 2022, alleging that Customs and Border Patrol agents had seized two packages with her boyfriend’s name. Inside, authorities said, they found 12 counterfeit Rolex watches worth $101,000 and counterfeit handbags worth nearly $27,000.

In all, the affidavit says, Caris signed for 774 shipments, from January of 2015 to September of last year.

Trooper Cornetti wrote, “Research shows Carris is currently selling the counterfeit designer merchandise on Facebook, Instagram, and websites for Bella Nailz and Belalux.”
