Brinker named tennis coach at Central Mountain
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Keystone Central School Board Thursday night approved Jeff Brinker as the new tennis coach at Central Mountain High School.
Board approval was followed by a district release on his selection:
Keystone Central School District and Central Mountain High School are pleased to announce Dr. Jeff Brinker as the next new Head Boys’ Tennis Coach. Dr. Brinker has been coaching at Central Mountain for many years and returns for his first season as a tennis coach. When going through the interview process, Jeff indicated that CM Tennis would be strong this upcoming season, and he would help students get extra help in the off-season at local training facilities. Central Mountain plans to continue its annual quad meet tournament on 4/20/23 vs. Altoona Area, Galeton, and Mifflin County.
Dr. Brinker’s Comments
I am excited to have the opportunity to coach the Central Mountain Boys Tennis team for the upcoming Spring 2023 season. It is our hope as a team to be able to build on 2022’s accomplishments. The Central Mountain Tennis Program has five core principles. Sportsmanship, dedication, hard work, honesty, and respect. These are the guiding principles that our program is driven by on and off the courts. Winning matches is important, but winning at all costs is not what determines a successful season or player. A successful player is one that embodies these core values and demonstrates them in the classroom, on the courts, and constantly throughout life.
The new coach replaces Pete Wert, longtime successful coach, who resigned recently to take over the women’s tennis program at Commonwealth University – Lock Haven.
