Sugar Valley has a great weekend of wrestling at multiple levels

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Phoenix continues its rise in the world of high school wrestling.

On Friday night, the Sugar Valley Junior High team went 3-2 beating Mount Carmel, Williams Valley and Loyalsock at the South Williamsport Junior High Team Dual Tournament.

Saturday turned out to be an awesome day of wrestling for the Phoenix varsity squad, with a third-place team finish and multiple place winners at South Williamsport’s Mountaineer Individual Tournament:

Cameron Quick – 139 – 1st Place
Gavin Hampton – 133 – 2nd Place
Kyle Stahl – 215 – 2nd Place
Isaiah Conoway – 145 – 3rd Place
Wyatt Conoway – 121 – 5th Place

Sugar Valley had a number of 6th, 7th and 8th place winners. Coach Jason Bilbay called the performance, “A great showing for our team!”

The Phoenix will be back in action on Tuesday at Shamokin.
