Love resigns as Woodward Township supervisors’ chairman

DUNNSTOWN, PA – Wayne Love, chairman of the board of Woodward Township supervisors, has resigned from that position and the board itself, effective as of Tuesday. His resignation was announced and accepted at Tuesday’s supervisors meeting, but his resignation letter had been submitted on Nov. 15.

Love presided over the Tuesday meeting, which lasted 40 minutes.

The township has already advertised for a replacement and the sitting supervisors, vice-chairman John Barth and Kyle Coleman have 30 days to find and agree on a replacement. Love and Barth are Republicans, Coleman a Democrat.

Love had been elected to the board in 2017 and was in the fifth year of his 6-year term at the time of his Tuesday resignation.

The Love letter of resignation:

It is with much contemplation that I have come to the following decision. I wish to thank the residents of Woodward Township for placing their trust in me following the election of 2016, however, due to personal medical reasons, I now find I must submit my resignation.

This notification serves as my resignation from the position of Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, as well as my resignation from the Woodward Township Board of Supervisors effective as of December 20, 2022.
