Central Mountain swimmers stage strong showing in tri-meet at Bloomsburg
BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Central Mountain swim teams were back in the pool on Tuesday and both the girls and boys’ squads did well in a tri-meet with host Bloomsburg and Mount Carmel.
The CM girls swim team looked impressive Tuesday night as they competed in the tri-meet with Bloomsburg and Mount Carmel. The Wildcats defeated Bloomsburg by a score of 93-62 and Mount Carmel 108-6. The 200 Medley Relay of Abrianna Hosley, Camryn Bair, Ana Persun, and Autumn Garman got the the wildcats on the board with a victory to start the meet. The Wildcats won the next 3 events as Persun was 1st in the 200 Free, Hosley won the 200IM, and Bair dominated the 50 Free. The winning trend continued in the second half of the meet as the Wildcats scored wins from Garman in the 100 Free, Hosley in the 500 Free, and Bair in the 100 Back. The 200 Free Relay team of Elizabeth Nestor, Jocelyn Sproat, Catherine Lugg, and Lily McWilliams finished first as well as the 400 Relay team of Bair, Hosley, Garman, and Persun. Camryn Bair rebroke her school record in the 100 Bakstroke with a new time of 1:02.88. The Wildcats are now 2-0 and will compete next on January 3 at LHU against Bellefonte and BEA.

The Central Mountain boys got their dual meet season under way on Tuesday night in the tri-meet against Bloomsburg and Mount Carmel. The boys defeated Bloomsburg 83-42 and tied Mount Carmel 73-73. The 200 Medley Relay team of Neil Kaluzny, Arthur McGuire, Jonathan Hughes, and Owen Wunder got things rolling with win to start the meet. Hughes would go on to win both the 200 IM and 100 Fly with ease. Neil Kaluzny won the 100 Back and Arthur McGuire won convincingly in the 100 Breast. The 200 Free Relay team of Hughes, Wunder, Newcomer, and Kaluzny finished first as well. The Wildcats entered 3 new swimmers for their first tri-meet. Dylan Russell, Skylar Small, and Tristan Ryor competed for their first time today. All 3 swimmers earned valuable points for their team. The boys next meet is scheduled for January 3 at LHU against Bellefonte and BEA. The meet will start at 4:30 p.m.
