Clinton County Historical Society Hosts Annual Holiday Open House & House Tour on December 14
The Clinton County Historical Society Clinton County Historical Societyinvites the community to celebrate the season at its Annual Open House and House Tour on Saturday, December 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. Festivities begin at noon at the Heisey House Museum and Poorman Gallery, where guests may purchase tour tickets ($20), browse commemorative bricks and afghans, or find a unique piece of art perfect for holiday giving.
Guests who have already purchased their house tour tickets should stop by the Heisey House starting at noon to pick up their wristlets and programs. The Dogwood Garden Club will add to the seasonal charm with a display of holiday arrangements—each one available to win simply by completing an entry form. Visitors may also take advantage of a special holiday price on Wine in the Wilds tickets, a great option for festive stocking stuffers.
This year’s tour showcases some of the county’s most storied and scenic homes. Highlights include the Chatham/Ferguson House in Charlton, the oldest log-and-brick residence in the county and a historic gathering place of the famed “Fair Play Men.” Guests can also explore the Hopkins/Widmann House, a beautifully preserved landmark from the lumber era, and a Lindsay Place suite located on the site of the first lot sold by Lock Haven founder Jerry Church.
Mid-century gems on the tour include the artfully renovated Bruno House and the Gales/Kennedy House, brimming with holiday cheer. Rounding out the experience are two remarkable riverfront properties—the River Barndominium and the Barn @8332—each adorned in festive décor and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and water.
The Historical Society encourages residents and visitors alike to join in this celebration of heritage, architecture, and holiday spirit. Come experience the very best our community has to offer this season.
Warmest holiday wishes from the staff and directors of the Clinton County Historical Society—Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
