Woolrich Park ownership transfer process continues
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Woolrich Park looks to be continuing in its park capacity for a long, long time. The Clinton County Commissioners at their Thursday meeting approved the park’s donation from the county to Pine Creek Township, the municipality in which the venerable Woolrich landmark is located.
The county earlier this year assumed park ownership from Woolrich, Inc., the previous owner who wished to divest itself of ownership but see the park remain as a public park. Commissioner Angela Harding said Thursday the Pine Creek Township supervisors are expected to accept park ownership at their November meeting. Plans are, she said, for a commission or committee to be set up to oversee the facility. She expressed satisfaction that the park “will be continuing to be a park.”
The transfer was first discussed in the spring. It was noted at the time the agreement will turn the park over to the township, with the understanding its ownership will revert to county government if the township chooses not to maintain it as a park.
