Cross Fork Veteran’s Day Observance
CROSS FORK – The folks at Broken Tongue Camp in South Cross Fork held their annual breakfast on November 11, 2014.
At 11 after 11 a.m. they held a flag raising ceremony with a 21 gun salute. Joe Kozik made several remarks concerning famous veterans. Cookie Kozik sang Amazing Grace and everyone was excused until parade time.
At parade time 75 persons, armed with American flags, formed up to walk in the parade. It was led by the Color Guard from the American Legion in Renovo. Joan Deere drove her pink tractor and “Orge” Labant drove his tank truck which was all shined up for the occasion!
At the end of the parade, Joe Kozik led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and Cookie Kozik led the assembly in singing God Bless America.
Then the group gathered at Jeff’s Place in Cross Fork where a beautiful buffet was set out and it was another great Veteran’s Day in Cross Fork.
