Our Christmas Heritage
Renovo area residents are in for a new kind of treat this year, a celebration of your Christmas Heritage on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Heritage Headquarters, 530 Erie Avenue in Renovo from 2 to 5 p.m.
The Elf and Mrs. Clause will greet guests with hot chocolate, cookies and warm hugs and invite you to come and share your Christmas memories and stories.
Local author Donna Kshir will be present for book signings and reading. Kshir, Sandra Potter and Bob Renovo resident Bob Shank have written and compiled children’s stories that are published in three new Renovo Storytelling books. The books are an entertaining collection of folk and fairytales. They will be available for sale at this holiday event.
More information can be found at http://renovostorytellers.weebly.com or renovoheritage.org. You can also call Alice Tarr at 570-923-0458 and leave a message. She will call back.
Christmas Concert Sunday, Dec. 7
I admit I’m biased but one of the best holiday traditions in Renovo is the annual Christmas Concert at St. Joseph’s Church featuring the Renovo Area Community Choir.
Young local band plays Harrisburg area gig
Drocton Hill, a two man band featuring Richard Davenport and Jake Kormanec performed at the Tryptophan Fest in Lemonyne, PA near Harrisburg. The poster promoting the local musicians billed them as musicians who are “becoming timeless,” Drocton Hill.
Budstock ?
Rumor has it there might be a “Budstock” in Renovo this spring or summer. For those of you who remember “Woodstock” might be relieved to know that you can expect Budstock to be a whole lot tamer. These guys are some fifty years old, and if they smoke, it’s cigarettes they buy in stores – in Pennsylvania not Colorado.
