LOCK HAVEN – The Clinton County commissioners today named Paula Kistler as the county’s new chief clerk.

The commissioners were unanimous in their choice and in their praise of the former Lock Haven University Foundation official. Kistler will replace Amy Dicello who resigned earlier this fall to take a position at the local university.

Kistler’s pay was set at $53,627 annually. She said she was “extremely excited for the challenges of the position” and “looks forward to hitting the ground running on Monday morning.”

The new chief clerk is a native of Palmerton, Carbon County, and a Lock Haven University graduate with a BS in management and a BS in accounting. She also holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Kistler had been with the university for 15 years, most recently as deputy executive director. A resident of the Swissdale area, she is also a graduate of the local Leadership Clinton County program and served several years as chair of that organization’s advisory committee and presently chairs the county Enterprise Zone Committee.

There had been 18 applicants for the chief clerk’s position.
