Sara J. Myers – Obituary

Sara J. Myers, 80, formerly of Mill Hall, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at Care One Assisted Living, Livingston, NJ.

Sara was born in Phoenixville, Pa on September 2, 1934, the daughter of the late George and Minnie Mark Laubach.

Sara was a graduate of Lock Haven University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in teaching.

She was married to Clair G. Myers, who preceded her in death on April 27, 2003.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Flemington and was active in the church choir as well as the former church treasurer.

Sara was a beloved mother, an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress and cook. She enjoyed playing bridge and tennis and cared for elders as well as her children.

She is survived by two sons, Andrew Myers of Boston, MA and David (Julie) Myers of Livingston, NJ; two grandchildren, Andrew and Christopher Myers, both of Livingston, NJ; and a sister, Shirley Buskirk of Nazareth, Pa.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret McQuillen.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 7p.m. the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Robert W. Pickering officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.

Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
