Renovo Route 120 Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge set for new deck

RENOVO, PA – Renovo borough officials have alerted the motoring public that temporary traffic lights are to go into operation next week as a new deck is installed on the Route 120 PRR Bridge.

A borough spokesman posted word that the traffic lights and signage are set and ready to go. The posting said the lights will not be officially active for one-lane traffic over the west end bridge until Tuesday, Aug. 2. He asked motorists to be careful and drive slowly through the area during the preparation and work phase.

The bridge spans the Norfolk Southern railroad and is 202-feet long. It carries an average of almost 1,400 vehicles each day. PennDOT says the preservation work will improve its sufficiency rating from fair to good.
Swank Construction Company of New Kensington, PA is the contractor for the work.
