DuBois edges Keystone Juniors in state tourney opener

DUBOIS, PA – Home-standing DuBois used a 3-run bottom of the seventh to pull out a 7-6 win over the Keystone Juniors in a Tuesday opening round state Little League tournament game

It was a back-and-forth game, Keystone trailing 3-0 after one before pulling ahead 4-3 midway through. But DuBois plated one in the bottom of the fifth to tie things up at 4-4.

Then things got interesting in the seventh: Keystone scored two take a 6-4 lead but DuBois answered with three in the bottom of the inning for the walk-off win.

Hits were hard to come by for both teams, DuBois with only four, Keystone held to five. Keystone was led by Blake Walker with a triple, single and two RBIs. Dane Hanna and Hunter Donley each had a double and Nolan Cross had a single and an RBI.

Manager Steve Shade used five pitchers in Autsin Andrus, Josh Ludlow, Darius Shade, Watt Probst and Blake Walker.

Keystone will try and bounce back in their next game on Wednesday in the double-elimination tournament.
