Keystone 10s fall in sectional final to Blue Mountain
BERWICK, PA – The Keystone 10 All-Stars had a great run this season, taking the District 12 championship and earning a berth in the Section 3 championship. But their season ended Friday evening when Blue Mountain came from behind to earn a 10-4 win.
For Blue Mountain it was their second win over Keystone in three days, following a 15-0 conquest on Wednesday. And while Keystone was more competitive this time around, scoring four runs in the top of the first, Blue Mountain scored the game’s final 10 runs to earn the victory.
Two Blue Mountain pitchers held Keystone to just one hit, a single from Ehan Nestor. Meanwhile Blue Mountain, held to just three hits by five Keystone pitchers, took advantage of 14 walks and five Keystone errors to take the win.
The Blue Mountain pitching staff had shut down Keystone on Wednesday, holding the usually hard-hitting team to just two base hits.
Blue Mountain moves on to the state Little League tournament starting next Tuesday at West Point Little League. For Keystone the Friday loss ended an otherwise outstanding year and the squad will look to move up another notch or two as 11-year-olds in 2023.
