Clinton Senior softball out of state tourney
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Pennsylvania State Senior Softball Tournament lost its host team on Thursday when the Clinton Little League team had to forfeit out of the tournament. As explained to therecord-online by a tournament official, Clinton was removed from the tournament as it had not played the required 12 regular season games in order to participate in the postseason.
The matter had been brought to the attention of the Little League rules committee in Bristol, CT Wednesday night and their decision was relayed to local administrators.
Clinton had won its opening game on Wednesday by a 10-0 score over Lakeland, but as it turned out, that was the team’s only game of the season, haven taken district and sectional crowns without opposition. That game ended up as a forfeit loss.
The tourney is to continue through Friday at the softball field at Taggart Park In Lock Haven.
