LOCK HAVEN, PA – A massive state-funded traffic signal improvement project is well underway in downtown Lock Haven, a $2.7 million upgrade that began in early October of last year and is expected to continue until the end of August.
10 traffic signals upgrades are taking place:
– the 5-way intersection at the Civil War Monument at Bellefonte Avenue/Church & Corning Streets
– Bellefonte Avenue/Commerce Street
– Church/Henderson Streets
– Church/Vesper Streets
– Jay/Church Streets
– Jay/Main Streets
– Water/Grove Streets

– Main/Grove Streets
– Main/Vesper Streets
Additionally, work is being done at E. Main and Mill Streets involving the installation of a Rapid Response Flashing Beacon system near Triangle Park to enhance the safety for pedestrians crossing the street – the system alerts motorists that a pedestrian is in the walkway.

This was the first project dig, at E. Main and Mill Streets last fall.
