Loganton man charged in $111,000 theft

BELLEFONTE, PA – Rockview state police say a Loganton man has been charged with theft/crime by deception for failing to deliver on a $111,000 construction project. The police report said the accused is 25 years old but did not list his identity. The victim was listed as a 74-year-old female from Walker Township, Centre County.

Police said the victim hired the suspect to build a 70’ by 200’ by 16’ pole building for horses on her property.

They said she paid the suspect two installments of $55,000 each in advance, which the suspect cashed. Over a period of months, police said, the woman contacted the suspect about completing the work, but he never responded; she requested her money back and he never responded.
