State police report two more Clinton County scams; losses of $13,550


LAMAR TOWNSHIP, PA – Lamar state police report two more springtime scams, one in Beech Creek, one in Bald Eagle Township; the total loss placed at $13,500,

The greatest loss occurred between April 9 and 20, the victim a 70-year-old female from Maple Avenue in Beech Creek. Police said the actor(s) posed as an anti-virus computer service and requested payment in Bitcoin, the woman out $12,500 in Bitcoin.

The second scam occurred on April 19, the victim a 62-year-old Mill Hall area woman residing at Kadi Drive in Bald Eagle Township. Police said she attempted to purchase two Playstations and five game consoles from a Twitter account and was defrauded of $1,050.
