Central Mountain student Darbi Simcox among top 56 Level 10 gymnasts in the USA in age division

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Darbi Simcox of Lock Havenr ecently qualified for the USA Gymnastics Level 10 National Championships in Arizona.

She is a sophomore at Central Mountain’s Online Academy and just celebrated her 16th birthday. The daughter of Nikki and Jesse Simcox, she lives in Lock Haven but trains at Dynamats Gymnastics Center in Muncy. She is coached by Rob Tagge, Melissa Gyurina, and Todd Brannon.

The USA is divided into eight Regions and each Region is allotted seven girls per age group to send to compete at the National Championship. Simcox is now among the top 56 girls in the USA for Level 10 Gymnastics, which is one level below the Olympic level.

She scored an All-Around score of 37.15 earning her a spot at Level 10 Nationals, which is held in Mesa, AZ on May 12-15. She was also a regional medalist. She won 6th (9.475) on floor and 7th (9.2) on bars. Simcox will be competing for the Region 6 team in the Junior E division. Qualifying for Nationals is a huge accomplishment for which she trains year-round.
