SHICKSHINNY, PA – Bucktail hit the road on Friday night on a long trip to MPC East Division rival Northwest in high school baseball. The Bucks were hoping to change their recent misfortunes. Bucktail had lost four straight games by 10 or more runs, but Friday was different, the final 11-6 for the home team.

The Rangers were looking for an easy time against the struggling Bucks. Northwest took the early 1-0 lead after the bottom of the second inning, but the Bucks battled back with 2 runs of their own in the top of the third.
Northwest would tie things up with a run in the bottom of the third and a 2-run fourth inning would put the home team up 4-2. Bucktail would not give up.

Bucktail, who gave committed nine errors on Tuesday against Sullivan County played better defense on Friday. They only forced four errors for the entire game and a 2 run fifth inning would tie the game at 4-4. Northwest added a run of their own in the bottom half of the fifth to hold the slight 5-4 edge.

More Bucktail offense in the top of the sixth allowed the visitors to grab the shocking 6-5 lead. Northwest would explode for 6 runs in their half of the sixth, as Bucktail came unglued and would eventually drop the 11-6 contest to fall to 1-5 on the season.

Zach Pick continued his excellent senior season by going 3 for 4. Kayden Friese picked up a pair of hits, including a double and an RBI. Brett Mason, Kyler Friese, Ethan Kalafut and Tristan Probst each picked up hits as well for Bucktail.

The Bucks will now host Millville on Monday before hosting Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Wednesday. That CMVT game will be a Record Online Livestream event.
