Celebrate Earth Day – bid on a painted rain barrel
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Friday, April 22 is Earth Day. To celebrate, Clinton County Conservation District will be participating in an event sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council being held this Saturday, rain or shine, at the Station Gallery, 2 E. Bald Eagle Street, Lock Haven from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. The Conservation District will be auctioning off several painted rain barrels, giving out free pollinator seed packets, hosting Make-Your-Own seed-ball and fish t-shirt stations for kids and sponsoring Rick “the butterfly guy” Mikula who will be giving a 1 hour presentation featuring live Monarchs which will be held inside the gallery from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.. The beautiful rain barrels were hand-painted by Central Mountain and Sugar Valley Rural Charter Schools. All proceeds from the rain barrel auction will go to the Keystone Central and Sugar Valley Rural Charter School foundations.
Stop in and check it out a nature themed art exhibit entitled “What’s the Buzz!” Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Clinton County will feature a booth on how to “Certify Your Pollinator Friendly Garden.” They will also host an “Ask a Master Gardener” booth as well as a kids booth with FREE activities and FREE coloring books!
