CM swimmers finish fine meet season at Williamsport; prep for districts
WILLIAMSPORT, PA -The Central Mountain boys swim team lost their final dual meet of the season on Tuesday to host Williamsport 110-48 and the girls fell to the Millionaires, 111-67. Both Wildcat teams had solid winning seasons.
On the boys’ side, despite the loss, the Wildcats did pick up wins from Leisher Gugino in the 200 Freestyle, Jonathan Hughes in the 200 IM and the 100 Breast, and Jackson Walker in the 50 Free.
The boys finished their regular season with a record of 7-3-1. The District 6 Championship meet will be held on March 4-5 at Hollidaysburg High School. District qualifiers for CM are Jonathan Hughes, Leisher Gugino, Jackson Walker, and Owen Wunder.
The girls team also had some solid individual performances. In the opening event, the 200 Medley Relay of Camryn Bair, Ana Persun, Abrianna Hosley, and Hannah Brian won by 3 seconds over 2nd place Williamsport. Individually, the Wildcats picked up victories from Camryn Bair in the 50 Free and 100 Back, Abrianna Hosley in the 500 Free, and Ana Persun in the 100 Breast.
The girls finished the regular season with a 9-2 record. The District 6 Championships will be held on March 4-5 at Hollidaysburg High School. District qualifiers for the girls are Camryn Bair, Madison Bair, Ana Persun, Hannah Brian, Abrianna Hosley, and Olivia Rockey.
