State COVID case update
HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Saturday reported 9,264 new COVID-19 cases, a drop of 863 cases from the Friday figure of 10,127. The highest one-day amount during the pandemic in the state was 12,884 recorded Dec. 5, 2020.
4,044 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state, up 59 from Friday. Those in intensive care on Saturday numbered 881, an increase of two from Friday.
Clinton County reported 46 new cases for a total of 6,163, the highest number of new cases in one day since 65 were recorded on Nov. 19. In Centre County 133 new cases were recorded for a total of 23,271. Lycoming County added 112 new cases for a total of 19,942.
The state Saturday reported 113 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County remained at 94, the first time in five days that number has remained unchanged.
