State COVID cases surge to highest level in 10 months


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Thursday reported 9,143 new COVID-19 cases, the highest one-day amount since January 29.

3,928 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state, down 11 from Wednesday. Those in intensive care on Thursday numbered 837, a drop of 21 from Wednesday.

Clinton County reported 29 new cases for a total of 6,077. In Centre County 85 new cases were recorded for a total of 22,997. Lycoming County added 139 new cases for a total of 19,693.

The state Thursday reported 128 new deaths. The death count in Clinton County increased by one to 93, for a total of five deaths over the last three days.
