Calling all candy lovers: It Is What It is Sweet Shop open in downtown Lock Haven.
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Old-timers can’t remember the last time downtown Lock Haven had a stand-alone candy store but it does now. ‘It Is What It Is Sweet Shop’ opened its doors for the first time Wednesday morning on E. Main Street and had a steady stream of customers until closing time at 4 p.m.
The new candy store, in a former pottery business storefront, is owned by Art Sanders, daughter Fabre’ Sanders and her husband, Larry Miller. They also own and operate It Is What It Is, a specialty shop which opened two doors down in 2018. In between the two shops is Art Sanders’ window fashion business, a longtime downtown staple.
The new owners said, “We wanted to bring an interesting collection of chocolates and candies to Lock Haven and offer great customer service and a fun new business to join our downtown community.”
The Sweet Shop will be closed for Thanksgiving but will begin holiday hours on Friday, Nov. 26. Those hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The lone exception will be this Saturday, Nov. 27, part of Downtown Lock Haven special store hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
