Big day in downtown Lock Haven Saturday; parade at 6 p.m.
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Downtown Lock Haven Inc. has announced that this Saturday will be a special day in the downtown, beginning at 8 a.m. and running through 9 p.m., all part of a month of activities leading up to Christmas 2021.
This year’s theme is ‘Welcome to 2021 Haven Hollywood Holidays!’ The theme blends Lock Haven, Hollywood, and the Holidays. Local participating businesses and organizations have been hard at work to create window themes and parade floats to showcase what, according to Downtown manager Kira Rosamilia, “our beautiful and historic downtown has to offer.”
The schedule as posted by the downtown group:
Starting at 8 a. m. – Downtown Lock Haven Inc. will be giving a limited number of Shop Lock Haven Local Canvas Bags away at its E. Main Street office.
·Businesses are opening at 9 a. m.
·A family event will take place at Triangle Park starting at 12:30 p. m through 5 p.m. Hot Cocoa, candy canes and decorate your own ornament. Sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway and Tri-County Church North Central.
-Rich Schlesinger will be rocking out at Triangle Park with his acoustic guitar starting during the family event.
·Participating downtown businesses will be offering promos to attract customers in. Some participating businesses will be giving away buttons to attach to the bags for promotional purposes.
·Participating businesses will have their windows decorated in a holiday movie they have chosen; viewers will get to vote the best decorated window.
·The Downtown Lock Haven Inc. presents Triple H, Haven, Hollywood Holidays Parade at 6 p. m. Floats will be decorated in a holiday movie of the organization’s choice. The parade will be streamed live on therecord-online.Viewers again will get to vote the winner.
·At 7 p. m to 9 p.m. there is a surprise in Sarah’s Alley (located near Stella A’s)
·In the E. Main Street municipal parking lot there will be holiday lights and blow-ups for people to walk through
·Music will be playing
·Shoppers can take photos weekly to upload for a chance to win a $50 gift card that they can only use at participating members’ businesses.
