Clinton COVID cases hit new seasonal high


HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Saturday reported 4,966 new COVID-19 cases statewide and another increase in COVID-related hospitalizations. New cases in Clinton County hit a new summer/fall high with 33, the previous one-day high 31 new cases on Thursday.

The state said there are 2,677 hospitalized patients due to COVID-19, the highest number since May 5 and up 36 from Friday. Of those hospitalized 662 are in intensive care units, unchanged from Friday; 351 reported on ventilators, up 27 from the previous day.

In Clinton County 33 new cases were reported on Saturday, bringing the total to 4,258. Centre County saw an increase of 80 on Saturday to 19,104, while Lycoming County increased by 60 to 14,061.

64 new deaths were reported by the state; the death count in Clinton County remained at 71.
