KCSD to go remote Friday; football remains on

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Schools in the Keystone Central School District will go to remote learning for Friday classes. That word from district superintendent Jacquelyn Martin was to be circulated to district families late Thursday afternoon.

The superintendent said the decision was made after consultation with the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services; that “there are too many unknowns about flood levels and damage.” She said athletic contests across the district will go on as scheduled on Friday.
The superintendent’s announcement:

9/23/21

I first wish to apologize for any inconvenience that today’s early dismissal may have caused our families and appreciate your understanding of the situation. The timing of the storm made it difficult to make a call until after all busses had picked up students. Due to the power outages from the storm we also lost communication lines into the district and within buildings mid-morning and were unable to receive some incoming calls which compounded communication issues this morning. I want to thank our staff and our bus drivers for their flexibility and support today…all students did get home safely by early afternoon.

In consultation with the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services, the Keystone Central School District will operate as a Remote Learning Day for tomorrow, September 24, 2021. At this time there are too many unknowns about flood levels and damage in the area for tomorrow and we wanted to give families and staff members additional time to prepare for a remote day.

All scheduled athletic contests will occur as scheduled for Friday evening and any after school athletic practices may be permitted at the coaches discretion.

Stay Safe,

Dr. Jacquelyn Martin
Superintendent
