Blanchard man charged in truck theft
GREENE TOWNSHIP, PA – Lamar state police have charged a Blanchard man with theft of items from a stolen vehicle owned by a Jersey Shore man.
Police identified the accused as Dustin Askey, 36, of Blanchard. They said the incident occurred in late August when troopers responded to Oakridge Lumber, E. Valley Road, Greene Township, regarding a parked Dodge RAM truck believed to have been operated by Askey. Police said the truck had been stolen out of Lycoming County and was transported to Lamar state police.
Police said the truck owner, Kurtis M. Jones of Jersey Shore, was contacted and said his truck had been damaged and $35 worth of ammunition stolen. Police said two different witnesses observed Askey driving the stolen truck.
