Come learn about the Farrandsville Furnace
Once a year the Clinton County Historical Society features the Farrandsville Furnace and its importance in the industrial development of the County.
On Sunday, July 11 at 2 p.m. at the Colebrook Township Building the public is invited to view and learn about the furnace and view memorabilia from the 1830’s including transcripts of letters the Engineer wrote to his family in Wales
Rich Wykoff, local historian, will be presenting on the Farrandsville Civilian Conservation Corp Camp and other camps in Clinton County. The CCC was an organization to provide jobs and accomplish infrastructure projects during the Great Depression of the 1930’s, part of the New Deal Plan of President Franklin Roosevelt.
The Mission of the Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history of the area. The Society is celebrating its 100th year in 2021.
