Lock Haven Catholic School Sets Groundbreaking
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven Catholic School has announced an Oct. 9 groundbreaking for the anticipated addition to its W. Water Street building.
Bishop Mark Bartchak, head of the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese, is to celebrate Mass with the school community at the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a.m. on that date, followed by his blessing at the school construction site.
The school has been seeking to raise $1.5 million to add two classrooms, restroom facilities, a kitchen area and a multi-purpose room. The new wing is to be constructed on the east side of the present building.
Lock Haven Catholic this year added a seventh grade class for the first time and has announced plans to add an eighth grade for the next school year, making the school a combined elementary and middle school facility.
