Lady Bucks hosts Millville in D4 playoffs Tuesday

FARWELL, PA – The District 4 Class A softball playoff schedule has been announced and the Lady Bucks of Bucktail are the number three seed, earning them a home quarterfinal game this Tuesday with #6 Millville. Game time will be 4:30 p.m.

Bucktail finished the regular season at 15-4 while the Lady Quakers ended up with a 10-10 record. Millville did earn a 5-4 win over the Lady Bucks in their only regular season meeting, at Millville on April 28. Bucktail will be out for revenge on its home field on Tuesday.

A Bucktail win would earn Coach Mike Poorman’s team a trip to the district semifinals, the opponent #2 seed Montgomery (19-1). That game is scheduled for Elm Park in Williamsport on Friday, May 28 at 3 p.m.

In the upper bracket, Canton (12-8), the number four seed, will host #5 seed Cowanesque Valley (12-8) on Tuesday. The winner draws top-seeded Northeast Bradford (14-0) in the other semifinal game at Williamsport’s Elm Park on Friday, May 28 at 5 p.m. The district title game is set for Elm Park on Wednesday, June 2 at 4:30 p.m.

There was no district playoff in 2020 due to COVID-19. The Lady Bucks won the last championship contested in 2019, the school’s first-ever district softball title.
