Lady Bucks rebound, 15-0 over Benton
FARWELL, PA – The Bucktail softball team bounced back in a big way Saturday, a 15-0, 4-inning win over visiting Benton on Saturday afternoon. The win put the Lady Bucks at 5-1 on the year and came after the team’s first regular season loss in two years, 5-2 to Muncy on Thursday.
Bucktail left no doubt on this one, plating nine runs in the first inning, five more in the second, and ending things on the mercy rule with a 15th run in the bottom of the fourth. Meanwhile Bucktail pitchers Emma Poorman and Makenzie Wagner combined on a one-hitter, picked up off Wagner. Each went two innings and totaled 7 strikeouts, Poorman with the win on her hitless two innings..
The freshman Wagner also helped the Bucktail cause with two triples, four RBIs, a run scored and a walk. Jordan Burrows had a double, a single, an RBI, two walks and three runs scored on a 3-for-3 afternoon. Haley Burrows had a triple, three RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. Singles came from Dakota Werts, Alexis Lowery, Lily Francis and Kayla Probert. Bucktail also received 11 free passes from two Benton pitchers.
The Lady Bucks are scheduled to be back in action Monday, home with Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
