Sugar Valley Rural Charter returns to in-person instruction Monday
LOGANTON, PA – The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School will return to classroom instruction on Monday. CEO Kennedy informed the school community with a recent posting:
Dear SVRCS Families, I hope you all had a wonderful winter holiday! All of us at SVRCS are excited for our students to return to school for in-person instruction on Monday, January 11th. At that time, students can return to the in-person/virtual environment that you selected for them prior to our switch to full-remote instruction. Moving forward, Grades 7-12 will continue with the academic block scheduling and the Day 5 and Day 6 rotating schedule. K-6 will remain with the regular scheduling of Day 1 through Day 6.
However, if Covid-19 cases develop while we are in school and the counties remain in the substantial category, PDE has recommended that a Hybrid schedule be used, to allow for fewer students in the building each day. If we have to move to a Hybrid Schedule, students whose last names begin with A-L will attend in- person learning on Monday and Tuesday while the other students attend virtually. The students whose last names begin with M-Z will attend in-person learning on Thursday and Friday while the other students attend virtually. Wednesday, the school will be undergoing a deep cleaning and K-12 students will be attending school virtually and adhere to all the attendance rules, previously put in place.
Additionally, there is still the possibility that we will need to return to full-remote instruction at a moments’ notice. All students who have been using their school computer for remote instruction will need to take their computers home from school every evening.
If you have any questions concerning the Hybrid schedule or any other questions, please contact the school. Please stay healthy and safe! Take care,
