Solar Power Facility Reportedly Proposed for the Keatings
LOCK HAVEN, PA – Information should soon be forthcoming about a long-rumored solar panel installation in western Clinton County.
Therecord-online has learned that the Clinton County Zoning Hearing Board has scheduled a hearing for 6:30 p.m., Jan. 5 in the Clinton County Courthouse on a special exception request. Landowner Mary Winner and project developer Apex Clean Energy have applied for the special exception; unconfirmed reports say they are seeking to locate a 1,500 to 2,000 acre utility grade power installation. The property covers 16 parcels in East and West Keating Townships. The land is currently zoned as a rural forest district.
Apex Clean Energy is headquartered in Charlottesville, VA and is described as a company which “develops, constructs and operates utility-scale wind and solar power facilities across North America.”
Reports of a field of solar panels planned for that area of Clinton County had been circulating for the past year or so. Word of the Jan. 5 hearing is the first substantive information relative to the project.
