“Homeless” Man Charged with Indecent Assault in Renovo Incident
LAMAR, PA – State police at Lamar have released additional information on the apprehension of a man sought in connection with an incident at Scoot’s Service Station in Renovo on Dec. 17.
An updated report from police said Lance C. Baker, 35, of Linden remains in the Clinton County Correctional Facility in default of $50,000 bail; he is charged with indecent assault and related charges, police said, based on the alleged attack on a female employee at work at Scoot’s on the night of Dec. 17. Police had put out a “be on the lookout” report for Baker the next day, describing him as a homeless man who had been seen in the Renovo area last week.
Baker was picked up by police in the borough on Dec. 18 and bail was set at an appearance before Magisterial District Judge Frank Mills.
The ensuing police report said that Baker had entered Scoot’s just before 10 p.m. on Dec. 17 and forced the female clerk on duty into a back room where he allegedly attempted to sexually assault her. Charges against him include rape forcible compulsion and sexual assault, indecent exposure and simple assault.
The victim was reported as a 59-year-old female from Renovo. Her employer had posted on social media following the incident that she was “ok.”
