Lock Haven University Signs Two New Agreements with Salus University
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Lock Haven University has completed two new articulation agreements in the Doctor of Optometry degree program with Salus University, Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
Under the 3 + 4 Doctor of Optometry degree program, students who complete a minimum of 90 semester credits at LHU with a 3.0 GPA or above can apply for admission to Salus University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s (PCO) Doctor of Optometry program. Under the 4 + 4 Doctor of Optometry program, students who successfully complete a Bachelor of Science degree at LHU with a 3.0 GPA or above may apply for admission to the Salus PCO’s Doctor of Optometry program.
“Lock Haven University is honored to enter into both the 3+4 and 4+4 agreements with Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry/Salus University that will provide opportunities for highly qualified students from the university to complete a Doctor of Optometry program at Salus,” said Walter Eisenhauer, interim dean of the college of Natural, Behavioral and Health Sciences at LHU.
Salus PCO will reserve two seats in each class of the Doctor of Optometry program for LHU students who have successfully completed Phase I of the program and the application process for Phase II. If there are more than two such qualified students, the remaining students will be considered for admission along with the other applicants.
“Over the years, we’ve had several Lock Haven University students apply to Salus, so a partnership between our two universities was a natural fit,” said Monica Scirrotto, MS, director of admissions at Salus University. “We are excited to begin these articulation agreements with our Doctor of Optometry program and look forward to assisting future Lock Haven students in achieving their professional and educational goals.”
