Mid-State COVID-19 Cases Virtually Level: Clinton Stays at 56, Centre to 153, Lyco Stays at 164

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health, in its Sunday update, confirmed as of 12:00 p.m., May 31, that there are an additional 511 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 71,926. The department also reported a new death total of 5,555, an increase of 18 from Saturday. The number of new cases continues to trend down in the state and in the Clinton County area.

Clinton County cases held at 56, Centre County up one to 153 and Lycoming County stayed at 164. Other counties adjoining Clinton are: Clearfield, 39; Cameron, 2; Potter, 4; and Union, 59, all unchanged from Saturday.

There are 383,111 people who have tested negative statewide to date. The state Health Department listing said of state residents afflicted with the virus, 67 percent of them have recovered. That number of tests is 602 in Clinton County, up 5 from Saturday.
