Mid-State COVID-19 Cases: Clinton 49, Centre to 143, Lyco to 158

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health, in its Saturday update, confirmed as of 12:00 p.m., May 23, that there are an additional 725 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 66,983. The department also reported a new death total of 5,096, an increase of 112 from Friday.
Clinton County cases moved up one to 49, Centre County up five to 143 and Lycoming County up three to 158. Other counties adjoining Clinton: Clearfield, 34; Cameron, 2; Potter, 4; and Union, listed at 52, a drop of nine from the previous day.
There are 321,469people who have tested negative statewide to date. The state Health Department listing said of state residents afflicted with the virus, 59 percent of them have recovered. That number of tests is 505 in Clinton County.
