A Great Night for Live Music
LOCK HAVEN – When the City of Lock Haven first pondered the idea of the Summer Concert Series, there were doubts that it could be done. After all, the weather in north central Pennsylvania is very fickle … as is the river level for the floating stage.
Even though there have been cancellations, postponements and venue changes over the years, overall, the concert series has went rather well.
This past Sunday evening was a prime example of how awesome the concerts can be. The weather was perfect. Warm, not hot. Humidity just right with a bit of a breeze … and a beautiful sunset as well.
If you have never taken the opportunity to avail yourself to one of these concerts, you are missing out on some great free entertainment. Many of the bands are local and even home-grown talent that offer the finest in live music.
If you have made it to any of the concerts, be sure to let the sponsors know you appreciate their donations to support such projects. They deserve a tip of the hat for their valuable contributions to make these concerts possible.
Sunday’s concert featured Banned Together, a band that consists of many fine talented musicians from the region including Dave Sorgen (retired Keystone Central music teacher and band director) on trumpet, trombonist Neil Whyman, Laura Garside on saxophone, Pete DeSanto on drums, Dave Miller on keyboards/vocals, Dave Kranz on bass/vocals and John Radspinner on guitar. Vocalists are Pete Codispoti and Deb Smeal.
