Work to Resume on Two Local Construction Projects
LOCK HAVEN – With a May 1 go-ahead from the state, construction will be resuming on two sizeable projects in the Lock Haven area.
One of those is at the Croda facility off the Draketown Road in Bald Eagle Township. It is a $35 million project to expand its super refined oil (SRO) refining capacity. Croda employs 167 people and produces product for the pharmaceutical and personal care industry..
Also set to see a resumption of construction is the Lucky 7 Travel Plaza to be located just off the Walnut Street exit of Paul Mack Boulevard in Lock Haven. The new facility is now scheduled for completion sometime this summer. Construction on the building had been stopped as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, although outdoor site development was allowed to continue during the construction shutdown.
The travel plaza is a $6 million project. It is to include a convenience store and gas station, a Wayback Burgers franchise at the site and a slot machine/casino area (five slots machines have been approved by the state). 24 jobs are expected to be created over the next three years.
