LHU Men’s Track & Field competes at River Hawk Early Season Invite & Multi

SELINSGROVE – The Lock Haven indoor men’s track and field team returned to action this weekend and competed in the River Hawk Early Season Invite & Multi hosted by Susquehanna University on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14.

The River Hawk Early Season Invite & Multi was held at the Robert I. Estill Field House in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.

Ryan Miller led the way on the track for Lock Haven after taking first place and hitting a PSAC mark in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.42.

Eric Zalar led the way in the field where he threw 57-02.75 feet in the weight throw taking first place and throwing for a PSAC qualifying mark.

Another PSAC qualifying mark came from Matthew Muthler who jumped to third place in the high jump with a height of 6-03.5 feet.

The quartet of Nick Bellomo, Jorge Santana, Matt Reinard and Josiah Schans took second place in the sprint medley relay with a time of 3:54.57. Dylan Cassetori, Jaden Wright, Lucca Capparelli and Lorenzo Thompson placed third in the same event with a time of 3:57.31.

Two other relay teams secured podium spots as the team of Lukas Epitropakis, Sage Carr, Jaden Wright and Thompson placed second while the team of Ryan Williams, Jarrett Lee, Cam Marquette and Ridge Snyder took third in the 4×400-meter with times of 3:38.95 and 3:39.73, respectively.

Other placeholders featured Schans, who took second place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.45 and Snyder who brought home bronze in the 800-meter with a time of 2:04.03.

Nathan Fetchkan placed third in the shot put with a throw of 44-09 feet. Chase Young also placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 42-04.75 feet.

With the holiday season upon us and the fall 2024 academic semester in the books, the Bald Eagles will take a break for the remainder of the calendar year. Lock Haven will return to action in 2025 as the Bald Eagles open the new year on Jan. 18, 2025 with competition at both the Nittany Lion Open (Penn State) and the River Hawk Invite (Susquehanna).
