LHU Women’s Track & Field competes at Susquehanna
SELINSGROVE – The Lock Haven indoor women’s track and field team returned to action this weekend and competed in the River Hawk Early Season Invite & Multi hosted by Susquehanna University on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The River Hawk Early Season Invite & Multi was held at the Robert I. Estill Field House in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
The contingent of Havana Gordon, Makayla Weber, Elizabeth Shultz, and Aubrey Sechrist led the way in the opening track event in the sprint medley relay (SMR) and finished with a time of 4:25.48 that was good for second place on the day and third all-time in the record books.
Regan Irons brought home gold in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.58 meters (5-2.25), qualifying for the PSAC Championship.
Kaydence Strange placed second in her opening competition of her freshman campaign with a time of 10:54.19.
Shultz had a third-place performance in her opening 400-meter dash of the year, running a time of 1:02.98.
Gordon returned from the SMR, running the 200-meter (27.58) and finished fifth.
The Bald Eagle duo in the 800 meters of Sechrist (2:25.17) and Nichole Carroll (2:29.95) both placed in the top five with second and fourth place finishes, respectively. Sechrist time was 0.02 seconds off a qualifying time for the PSAC Championship meet.
In the shot put, Lock Haven had a strong one-two punch with Clarissa Davis and Mallory Eck who placed second and third, respectively. Davis threw a mark of 11.80 meters (38-08.75), and Eck finished with a mark of 11.63 meters (38-02).

With the holiday season upon us and the fall 2024 academic semester in the books, the Bald Eagles will take a break for the remainder of the calendar year. Lock Haven will return to action in 2025 as the Bald Eagles open the new year on Jan. 18, 2025 with competition at both the Nittany Lion Open (Penn State) and the River Hawk Invite (Susquehanna).
