County Tourism Grants Awarded
LOCK HAVEN – Clinton County Tourism Director Julie Brennan has announced that 16 agencies will share $60,000 from the Clinton County Tourism/Recreation Grant Program this year.
Brennan shared the decisions from the program committee at the Thursday meeting of the county commissioners. She said they are in the categories of promotions, preservation and development and cover the county from Kettle Creek to Sugar Valley. 23 agencies had filed grant applications, seeking better than $124,000.
There are two new recipients this year, Brennan said. They are the Central Mountain ATV Association, $10,000 towards the cost of a parking/training area at the association’s property in Hyner; and the Northcentral PA Conservancy, $4,300 towards the cost of establishing the first public canoe launch along Pine Creek near Avis.
Brennan said, “Over the past five years, this program has invested more than $210,000 to ‘grow’ tourism and recreation in Clinton County.”
