Geisinger: No Short Term Plans for New Holding off Route 220 in McElhattan

DANVILLE – A spokesman for Danville-based Geisinger says the health care institution has no short term plans for better than three acres of vacant land purchased earlier this month. The plot is between Route 220 and Fritz Road in McElhattan, Wayne Township. The sale for $800,000 was recorded in the Clinton County Court House on March 6.

Geisinger Media Relations Specialist Marc Stempka provided therecord-online with this update:

There are no immediate plans for this specific area. However, Geisinger has and will continue to review locations and facilities throughout the region that could help make health care easier and bring care closer to home for our neighbors and health plan members.

Geisinger already has a presence in Wayne Township, where Geisinger Jersey Shore operates its Urgent Care at McElhattan, a converted residential structure several hundred yards northwest of the new land purchase.

The new site, just east of the McElhattan McDonalds, is about a quarter mile from the nearby UPMC Outpatient Center. That facility, in the former Bald Eagle Factory Outlets, opened in January of 2018.
