CM Volleyball Downs Shamokin, 3-1
COAL TWONSHIP – The Lady Wildcat volleyball team picked up another big road win, defeating Shamokin, 3-1 Thursday night.
The Lady ‘Cats sprinted out to a 25-9 win in the first set then faltered to the lady Indians, 26-24 in the second set. CM then rebounded in the third set, pot pacing Shamokin, 25-20 then sealed the victory with a 25-14 win in the fourth set.
“We got the win in 4 sets on their senior night,” said CM head coach Scott Garman, “We played well enough to win after a dramatic senior night victory last evening as the girls were both mentally and physically fatigued. Glad to walk away with a win and prepare for our last regular season match on Monday at Tyrone.”
Evie Rembold recorded 6 aces and 10 kills for CM followed by Loni Duck with 3 aces, 5 kills and 13 assists. Emily Bartlett and Abby Brinker had 2 aces each while Abby Lee, Mallory Eck and McKenzie Hanna all had one ace to their credit. Hanna also had 5 kills with Felicia Baney earning 6 kills and Reese Doyle had 1 kill.
The win takes Central Mountain to 10-7 on the season and are currently ranked second in the District 6 4A rankings.
Central Mountain will close out their regular season on the road at Tyrone on Oct. 21, 2019.
