CM Girls’ Tennis Picks Up Another 5-0 Sweep over Mifflinburg
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – Another day, another perfect sweep of a PHAC opponent for the Central Mountain girls’ tennis squad. This time the opponent was Mifflinburg falling to the Lady ‘Cats 5-0.
Kendall McCluskey led the way for CM, shutting out Mifflinburg’s, Abby Underhill, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles followed by Carolina Carpenetti fending off a late rally by Kiara Gilroy, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Olivia Anastos defeated Rockell Keister, 6-2, 6-1.
In No. 1 doubles action Natalie Brown Kati Kwiatek continued the Central Mountain rout with a, 6-1, 6-1 over Mifflinburg’s Amber Leitzel and Kylie Vasbinder. Ella Talbot and Jesse Piergallini closed out the sweep with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win over Mifflinburg’s Sylvia Rishel and Tayah Lamey at No. 2 doubles.
The win takes Central Mountain to 7-1 on the season.
The Lady Wildcats will next will travel to rival, Jersey Sore on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019.
